Get to know our Summer Camp 2025
This summer, from June 23th to July 25th, children between the ages of 3 and 14 will have the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable experience at Summer Camp 2025, organised by The English School of Asturias. A unique camp that combines fun, learning, and plenty of creativity, all through an exciting journey through time.
A Themed Camp by Historical Eras
The main goal of the camp is to create a different and enriching educational experience, where each week participants will immerse themselves in a different historical period, from Prehistory to the Future. Through carefully designed thematic activities, children will learn while having fun, developing their cognitive, social, and creative skills.
Each week will begin with a dramatization of the “time travel,” with songs and collective theater that introduce the theme in an immersive and exciting way. This activity marks the start of a weekly adventure that includes role-playing games, arts, cooking, sports, and outdoor games, all adapted to the corresponding era.
Additionally, children will create representative objects from each era, such as tools, clothing, or decorations, learning about the customs and traditions of past (and future!) times in a hands-on way.
Special Summer Camp activities
In addition to the thematic activities, the camp will include a weekly swimming session, perfect for cooling off and enjoying the summer. There will also be robotics classes, with dynamics that change each week, integrating technology into learning in a fun and age-appropriate way.
A Structure Designed for Active Learning
The camp classes will have names inspired by characters or elements characteristic of the weekly period, fostering a sense of identity and belonging for each group. The days will begin with thematic activities in the courtyard and will be carefully organised to ensure a structured day, leaving no room for improvisation.
The tutors will accompany each class throughout the day, except during activities that require specialists. Additionally, the teachers will actively participate in each dynamic, following the guidelines of the camp’s coordination team to ensure a coherent and quality experience.
The use of gamification, imagination, and augmented reality will play a key role in maintaining the children’s motivation and enthusiasm, turning each week into a unique adventure.
A Special Closure Each Week
At the end of each week, an assembly will be held in stages in which the children will have the opportunity to share with their peers what they have learned, discovered or created during the previous days.
This moment becomes an enriching space where each group presents their progress, shows their work and reflects aloud on their experience. In addition to reinforcing the knowledge acquired, these assemblies encourage oral expression, critical thinking and active listening. They also help to strengthen the sense of belonging to the group and create bonds between the different classes, promoting a united, respectful and collaborative school community.
Practical Information
The camp will be open from 9:15 to 16:00 and includes lunch, which will be prepared daily by the school kitchen staff, guaranteeing balanced menus adapted to the needs of the children.
